PianoEspoo concerts are held at various venues in Espoo and Helsinki. Traditionally, the main venue of the festival is the Espoo Cultural Centre in Tapiola. This year, other venues include Alberga Manor, Espoo Cathedral, Olari Church, Ritarihuone, Espoo Museum of Modern Art EMMA, Musiikkitalo and the Almi Hall of the Finnish National Opera.

Espoo Cultural Centre

Espoo Cultural Centre is the city’s main events venue, located in the heart of Tapiola, Espoo. There are two concert halls in the Espoo Cultural Centre, Tapiola Hall and Louhi Hall, both being among the main venues of PianoEspoo Festival.

  • Espoo Cultural Centre is located in Tapiola at Kulttuuriaukio 2, 02100 Espoo.

  • The venue is accessible via various public transport routes. Tapiola metro station and buss terminal are located within walking distance of 500 metres. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • Parking space available at Kaupinkallio car park, Kulttuuriaukio Square, Heikintori Square and the other car parks of Tapiola (subject to a fee).

  • The nearest disabled parking spaces are located at the Kulttuuriaukio Square, in front of the main entrance.

  • The main entrance is accessible by wheelchair. Upper levels are accessible with an elevator.

  • Disabled toilet facilities are available.

  • There are induction loops at Tapiola Hall and Louhi Hall.

Alberga Manor

Alberga Manor is a historic neo-renaissance gem in the middle of Leppävaara. The history of the manor dates back to 1622 and the current main building was built in the 1870s. PianoEspoo concerts are performed in the main building’s hall and vaulted cellar.

  • The address of Alberga Manor is Sokerilinnantie 7, 02600 Espoo.

  • Alberga Manor is located within easy access to public transport, 800 metres from Leppävaara railway station and bus terminal and a short walk from the public transport stops of Kehä I and Turunväylä. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • There are a small number of parking spaces in the yard of the manor. More parking is available nearby at the Sello shopping centre.

  • Unfortunately, Alberga Manor is not accessible by wheelchair. There is a ramp to the basement, but there only stairway to the hall of the manor.

Espoo Cathedral

Espoo Cathedral is a popular concert venue and home church for Espoo Cathedral Parish and Espoo Swedish Parish. The mediaeval stone church is built in 1500th century.

  • Espoo Catherdal is located at Espoo Centre, at Kirkkopuisto 5, 02770 Espoo.

  • The venue is within walking distance of 800 metres from the Espoo Centre train station. Few busses stop nearby. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • Free parking spaces are located next to the church at Kirkkokatu and Pappilantie.

  • Disabled parking spaces are located at the parking area at Pappilantie.

  • The church offers level access.

Olari Church

Olar Church is located in Niittykummu, Espoo, at Rälssitilankuja 1, 02200 Espoo.

  • Free parking is available next to the church.

  • There are free parking spaces for people with reduced mobility at the end of the entrance road at the end of the church building. There is a lift to the upper churchyard next to the stairs to the urn-field. Short-term escort services for people with reduced mobility can also drive to the upper churchyard in front of the main doors.

  • The entrance is accessible by wheelchair.

The Finnish House of Nobility / Ritarihuone

The Finnish House of Nobility, dating back to 1864, is located near the Senate Square in the centre of Helsinki. In addition to PianoEspoo's concerts, the neo-Gothic ambience, with its historical value, is the venue for many other concerts and events.

  • Ritarihuone is located at Ritarikatu 1, 00170 Helsinki.

  • The venue is easily accessible by public transport: several trams stop just around the corner and the Helsinki University metro stop is 800 metres away. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • Parking spaces (with a fee) are located within walking distance in the city centre.

  • The venue is not completely accessible, since there are some steps at the entrance and stairs from the lobby to the concert hall, that is located on the second floor. However, wheelchair users can access the second floor via the Ritarikatu door, where a staff member will direct you to the lift. Please inform us in advance of your need for the lift at info@pianoespoo.fi.

  • The disabled toilet is on the second floor.

EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art

The Espoo Museum of Modern Art, EMMA, is one of the most important art museums in Finland. It is located in the WeeGee exhibition centre, a versatile centre for museums, exhibitions and events in the former Weilin&Göös printing house in Tapiola, Espoo. PianoEspoo's concerts at EMMA take place in the exhibition space on the second floor.

  • EMMA is located at Ahertajantie 5, 02100 Espoo.

  • The museum is located 800 metres from Tapiola metro station, where the metro and bus lines stop. The local bus service stops 350 metres away at the intersection of Ahertaantie and Pohjanantie. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • There is paid parking spaces at the exhibition centre, both on the outdoor field and in the Culture park car park.

  • Accessible parking is available in front of the WeeGee building. A ramp leads from the accessible parking area to the main entrance of the building. Maxicabs are welcome to pick up and drop off visitors at the main entrance. Wheelchairs and walkers are available for loan at the entrance.

  • The main entrance is wheelchair-accessible. An accessible lift to the other floors of the building is located next to the café.

  • There are free lockers on the ground floor and a self-service cloakroom at basement level (K). Please stow winter coats, umbrellas, large bags, backpacks and bike helmets in the lockers or the cloakroom.

  • Toilets are found on the ground floor, at basement level (K), and alongside the restaurant. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are found on the ground floor and at basement level (K). Both are accessible by lift.

Helsinki Music Centre / Musiikkitalo

The Helsinki Music Centre is a concert hall and a music center in Töölönlahti, Helsinki. The building is home to Sibelius Academy and two symphony orchestras, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. The Music Centre was opened in 2011.

  • Disabled taxis can drop off and pick up customers at the Kansalaistori entrance, which offers level access to the building.

  • The venue offers level access throughout. All floors are served by a lift. Wheelchairs are available to borrow from our Visitor Information Centre, and there are disabled toilet facilities on every floor.

  • Portable induction loops are available from Visitor Information Centre.

The Finnish National Opera, Almi Hall

The home of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet is the Opera House in the Töölönlahti area of Helsinki. At the Opera House, there are the main stage and the smaller concert hall Almi Hall, where PianoEspoo will be visiting this year.

  • The Opera House is located at Helsinginkatu 58, Helsinki. There are two entrances to the building: the main entrance on the Mannerheimintie side and the Töölönlahti entrance on the Oopperankuja side. To enter Almi Hall, use the Töölönlahti entrance.

  • The National Opera is easily accessible by public transport. Trams and buses stop just a few hundred metres from the Opera House. For the best route option, see HSL journey planner.

  • The nearest public parking is located about 100 metres from the Opera House at Mäntymäki square (Mäntymäentie 1). The parking lot has a fee on weekdays until 21:00, but on weekday evenings and weekends parking is free of charge.

  • Accessible parking space is available at the Opera and Ballet's own parking area next to the Töölönlahti entrance. Töölönlahti entrance is wheelchair-accessible.

  • Accessible entrance to the Almi Hall is via lift. The lift is located to the left of the stairs leading to the hall.

  • Please note that road works on Mannerheimintie between Kiasma and the Opera House may cause delays on your travel by public transport and by car.
