Music always tells a story — but the best music tells more than one. Prokofiev composed his Sixth Symphony in the aftermath of World War II, though it’s far from clear that it ends in anything as simple as triumph. Magnus Lindberg has said that his new piano concerto contains three concertos in one. Still, there is only one Olli Mustonen — and he offers a composer-pianist’s perspective on Lindberg’s most ambitious work to date.
