Safer space principles

Everyone is welcome to PianoEspoo as they are. We emphasize equality and non-discrimination in our everyday actions and communications. At the event, we will follow the safer space principles, with which we aim to build a safe and welcoming space for everyone at the festival.

  • Any discrimination or harassment based on race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, descent or any other factor is strictly prohibited.

  • Respect the physical and mental boundaries of others and the right to self-determination. Do not touch anyone without a permission.

  • Do not make assumptions based on anyone’s appearance or actions. Do not repeat discriminatory stereotypes in your speech or actions.

  • Listen and be respectful of other people’s opinions.

  • If you experience or notice harassment or other inappropriate actions toward yourself or someone else, please address the situation and contact the festival organizer or venue staff.

Accessibility

PianoEspoo is committed to making the event accessible for everyone, regardless of background or special needs. If you notice any accessibility problems or need help arriving to the concert, contact the festival office at info@pianoespoo.fi.

The concerts are held in several different venues, where accessibility has been taken into account in different ways:

  • All of the venues are accessible, for example, by wheelchair, rollator or pram and there are accessible toilets.

  • Induction loops are available at the concert venues.

  • Wheelchair spaces are available. A free companion seat is offered to disabled visitors.

  • Read more about our venues.

PianoEspoo is participating in the Kaikukortti project, which offers free entrance to cultural services for people with low income. For further information about the Kaikukortti Card visit: www.kaikukortti.fi/en

You can come to many of the VocalEspoo concerts with a Culture Friend. A Culture Friend can, if you wish, book your tickets for you, be your guide and generally help you as needed. For further information about Culture Friends contact: kulttuurikaveri(at)espoo.fi

Environmental sustainability

PianoEspoo aims to make ecologically sustainable choices and reduce emissions in all aspects regarding the festival production.

  • Printed products are made using environmentally friendly materials. Recycling is done whenever possible.

  • The existing infrastructures of the venues are utilized.

  • Festival guests are encouraged to make environmentally friendly choices when attending the event. All venues are accessible by public transport, on foot and by bike. Vegetarian or other eco-friendly options are available at the venues’ restaurants and cafés.
